In this week’s Case Alert, Professor Sankoff examines the decision of R v Hudson, 2021 ONCA 772. This case is important for two reasons: (1) It is one of the very last decisions penned by the legendary Watt JA; and (2) it is a tour-de-force on an important topic: the ability of the Crown to address the jury on the accused having had the advantage of hearing all the evidence before testifying.
